What Stolvance is

Stolvance is an independent publication focused on the science of biological ageing. We read the research — the clinical trials, the population cohorts, the mechanistic studies — and translate it into something a non-specialist can actually use.

The longevity field is expanding quickly. It is also increasingly difficult to separate signal from noise, particularly as commercial interests compound the confusion. Our aim is to hold to the evidence, explain the limits of that evidence honestly, and stay independent of any product or industry interest.

Our principles

Evidence-first

We cite primary research. When evidence is weak or conflicting, we say so plainly.

No products

We do not endorse, review, or receive any consideration for any commercial product.

Accessible language

Scientific rigour and clear writing are not in conflict. We pursue both.

Proportionate claims

We do not overstate findings. Correlational research is labelled as such.

Contributors

Dr. Elena Marsh
Lead Contributor — Epigenetics & Biological Ageing

Elena's background spans molecular biology and science communication. Her writing focuses on epigenetic clocks, cellular senescence, and the translation of laboratory findings into practical implications for human healthspan.

Kai Lindqvist
Contributor — Metabolic Health & Longevity Research

Kai writes at the intersection of metabolic science and population health. His interests include caloric restriction research, Blue Zones epidemiology, and the lifestyle determinants with the strongest evidence base in longevity science.

A note on limitations

Longevity science is a young field. Many findings that appear in respected journals have not yet been replicated, and the translation from animal models to humans remains uncertain in many domains. We try to be explicit about these limitations rather than flatten the uncertainty to make a cleaner story.
